TCI Celebrates One-Year Anniversary
On May 10 2006, Target celebrated the one-year anniversary of the opening of the Target Corporation India (TCI) office in Bangalore, India. At an all-team meeting that evening, Chairman and CEO Bob Ulrich and other key senior executives shared information about our company vision and values, helping TCI team members understand and embrace their role in building the Best Company Ever.
During the past year, TCI team members have supported teams across the company, improving efficiencies and driving Speed is Life results. The technology team has completed twenty major projects and has more than 100 projects underway or in the pipeline. Ten business teams are currently in place and more are slated to be added over the coming months. Currently TCI teams are working with ten pyramids: Target Technology Services, Target Finance, Strategy, Target.com, Stores, Marketing, Human Resources, Property Development, Legal, Quality and Target Financial Services.
The expansion of our work force in India supports our Best Company Ever vision. TCI will improve the way we do business and increase our competitive advantage by helping us drive efficiencies, spur innovations and meet our growing need for talented team members. TSI is critical to our ability to reach our goal of 100 billion in sales.
Another TCI milestone to celebrate in 2006 is the opening of a second facility in Bangalore. This new facility (which opened in early August) will eventually house 1,200 team members for a total capacity of 1,350 team members between the new building and the existing facility.
